I became a governor in October 2011 as I believe that a school should be supported by the local community. I chair the Curriculum Committee and am the governor affiliated to class 2. Once a week I go in to school to help with their science lesson and to hear some children read. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know the children in our school in this way.
I am an active member of our local community and help to edit the parish magazine. I am also a committee member of the Menheniot School Association which organise events within the school and the local community to fundraise for extras that make learning fun for all the children.
I believe that these links benefit both the school and the village as a vibrant school helps to sustain a dynamic local community.
