We are situated at the heart of an unspoilt, rural village which has a real sense of community and excellent facilities – a local shop, play-park, fitness trail, cricket pitch, all weather tennis court and a football pitch. The village also has many active clubs and community groups.
Our school has lovely grounds which incorporate an environmental area, a large field, an adventure trail, a quiet area, a sensory garden, a special Year 6 area, raised vegetable plots and a small stage. We place an emphasis on ensuring that all children are safe – our site is surrounded by a security fence, all our staff are trained in ‘safeguarding’ and all our staff are CRB/DBS checked.
Our results are consistently high and have been for many years.
We were judged ‘Outstanding’ in September 2007 and have maintained this ever since, with an interim review in 2011 which re-confirmed this grading.
We provide a happy, stimulating and challenging environment where every individual is welcomed and respected. Our staff range from the very experienced to the newly qualified – all are committed to providing the very best for every child. We have ‘an open door’ policy. Our staff are friendly, approachable and helpful and always happy to discuss any concerns that you may have.
We place a strong emphasis on the acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills and aim for every child to be able to fully access the secondary curriculum effectively. We aim to educate ‘the whole child’ and to address the personal, social and health needs of the children as well as the academic. Good behaviour and good manners are very important to us and we promote these all the time, everyday. People often comment on how well-behaved and friendly our children are. We encourage all children to lead a healthy lifestyle and provide many opportunities and constant encouragement throughout the year.
