Pen-Portrait – Mrs Sarah Berry
Having moved from East Sussex in 2001 with my husband David to beautiful Cornwall, we have been blessed with two fantastic children who both attended Menheniot Primary School. Whilst they were at the school I became a parent governor.
Since 2011 I have had the privilege of being Chair of Governors at Menheniot Primary School. In January 2014, I qualified as a National Leader of Governance (NLG) and as such I now also work alongside other Chairs of Governors, Governing Bodies, Head teachers, CEO’s of Multi Academy Trusts and the Local Authority who need support with Governance in both secondary and primary school settings. This has been invaluable in helping me develop a greater understanding of the challenges faced in the changing landscape of education.
My working life has seen me use my background in design alongside my administrative ability to manage both myself and others enjoying a very varied career both in Cornwall and formerly in the South East of England. I am currently the Registered Manager of a local Charity that provides both domiciliary care to vulnerable adults in their own homes and day care services for adults with learning difficulties.
