We used iPads to take pictures of key features of our school grounds and then printed them and placed them on a numbered map similar to a zoo map and other attractions that we had been looking at in the morning. 

We read a story about a little girl called Hanni that loved looking through her imaginary window until one day she saw something that worried her. She decided one day to tell a teacher about what had been bothering her and together they solved the problem. Hanni’s window was similar to the internet showing that it’s an amazing place but if not used safely can make us worry. We designed our own windows to show was amazing things we would see out of our windows.

We tidied our whole classroom as Jewish people believe that no work should be done over the Shabbat. We then had our own Kiddish drink (squash) and Challah bread we shared this with our friends and had a great time. We also spoke about important things to say to our friends to be a kind and good person. 

Autumn Term 🍁🍂

Class One were incredibly lucky and got to join a live session where Julia Donaldson read her new book The Baddies and Axel Scheffler did live illustrations for us as well! We loved the new story and can’t wait to read it again! 📚🎉

Class One got to take part in a live lesson where they had to learn actions to match the jobs of a combine harvester they then chose their favourite actions and became a part of the worlds biggest combine harvester with schools up and down the country! 🚜

For French Day we learnt our numbers to 10 in French as well as singing songs, playing games and learning greetings and a few colours! We also had croissants for snack! 🥐 

✏️ Maths ✏️

We played games to explore fewer, more and the same at a Class One Teddy Bear Picnic 🧸 

Tiny the turtle sent us on a mission to collect objects for his three friends and then place them by the gate ready for him to collect after school! We had to make sure there was enough for each friend! 🐢

We made rocket ships that each had a number from 0-10 and we ordered ourselves before using our jumping skills from gymnastic lessons to count backwards from 10 for our rockets to BLAST OFF into space. 🚀

Class One made a number book representing all their numbers to 10 and wanted to show all their hard work to Reception! ✏️📚📖

🌎 Geography 📍

📚 History 📚

We built Pudding Lane out of Lego and then used flame cut outs to explore how the wind helped the fire to spread so quickly. 🔥

🔬 Science 🧬

We thought about how our hearing could be challenged by investigating different ways we can hear a whistle. We thought about distance from the sound and our hoods blocking the sound. 👂

We drew around one of our class and then used chalks to label different body parts! 🖐 🦵 👂
