On Friday 26th March, Class 5 spent the day taking part in a virtual Geography field trip to Plymouth.
We talked about many things including: land-use; green spaces; what influence the university has had on the city and steps that have been taken to make Plymouth an attractive place to visit. Using Google maps, virtual video clips and a detailed map of the city, pupils navigated between different locations and recorded points of interest onto a map of Plymouth. They then worked in groups to carry out research on different landmarks which they presented to the class before finishing the afternoon with ice-cream!
Class 5 have had a busy few weeks. In art they enjoyed using acrylic paints to create textured cityscapes, which were inspired by the artist Leonid Afremov. The end result was fantastic!

We looked at the history of the Cornish pasty; the journey of one of the ingredients from field to fork; food miles and considered what makes a good pasty before making them. I’m sure they were all very tasty!
